US Intellectual Property Law course offers professionals a clear and practical introduction to the core principles of US Intellectual Property (IP) law.
Participants will explore the four main areas of IP—copyright, trademark, trade secrets, and patents—through an engaging mix of foundational theory and recent case law. This course also aims to improve the participants’ level of English as well as their grasp of the appropriate terminology.
By analyzing key legal decisions, learners will gain insight into the evolving challenges in the IP landscape. The course emphasizes active learning through collaborative activities, research exercises, and group discussions, enabling participants to apply essential terminology and legal concepts in real time. By the end of the session, attendees will leave with a solid, working understanding of intellectual property law and its practical applications.

It is particularly suited for those working with international clients, cross-border cases, or innovation-driven sectors (technology, media, research, design) where IP protection is critical.
Prérequis
- Participants should have basic academic and professional background knowledge of U.S. Law and institutions*
- B2 or C1 level of English is required
- An online placement test will be conducted prior to the training to organize participants into two groups, allowing the course to be taught at two levels: B2–C1 and C1–C2, depending on individual proficiency.
* For professionals without prior subject-matter knowledge, the one day courses will be offered in an extended 3-day format.
This training course is learner-centered and tailored to participants’ language level and legal background. A positioning test is conducted before the session to form groups based on English proficiency, ensuring that the content and pace are adapted to each group’s needs.
The program blends theoretical input on US intellectual property law with interactive learning methods, including simulations and role-playing exercises. This approach enables participants to actively apply legal concepts while strengthening their ability to communicate effectively in English in professional legal contexts.
